An interview with Roger Federer in Switzerland

The tennis magazine 'Deuce' asked David Law to contribute an article about Roger Federer for an insight into the man who would go on to become a four-time Wimbledon champion.

Law, who first met Federer as a 16-year-old in his debut tournament in Gstaad, Switzerland in 1998, arranged a one-on-one meeting with Federer at his training base in Switzerland.

They spent an hour talking, and Law also spoke to all of Federer’s support team before taking to the court with the World No.1 himself to sample the Swiss player’s forehand in the flesh so that it could be described in the article.

It resulted in a 2,500-word exclusive feature article in which Federer talked at length about his victory over Pete Sampras at Wimbledon, how he got to where he is, and his plans for the future.
